Dancygier’s Book on Muslims in European Politics Awarded 2018 Stein Rokkan Prize

A book by professor Rafaela Dancygier was named the winner of the 2018 Stein Rokkan Prize for Comparative Social Science Research.

Dilemmas of Inclusion: Muslims in European Politics” examines how minority groups are integrated into politics and explores how this inclusion influences the nature of party politics and electoral cleavages.

Dancygier is an associate professor of politics and public affairs at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and specializes in comparative politics, with a focus on the implications of ethnic diversity in advanced democracies. 

The Stein Rokkan Prize for Comparative Social Science Research is an annual award given to a submission that is deemed to be a significant and original contribution in comparative social science research. The prize is presented by the International Social Science Council, the University of Bergen and the European Consortium for Political Research. The prize also comprises an award of $5,000.
