Public Service Internships

Public Service Internships

The Woodrow Wilson School has funding available for summer grants to Woodrow Wilson School juniors for internships in governmental or non-profit organizations in public policy or international affairs. Students can access our online career resources for public service internship and job opportunities. You can also use the university HireTigers/Handshake search engine to locate opportunities. It will provide you with many options to refine your search.

Examples of prior internships include:

• U.S. House of Representatives,
• U.S. Department of State,
• Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland,
• Amnesty International

Internships must be unpaid, full-time and at least six weeks in duration.

Internships can take place in the U.S. or abroad and do not need to be related to the student's senior thesis research topic.

The internship grants are usually between $3,000 and $5,000. Students may apply for funding through the University's Student Activities Funding Engine (SAFE).
