Undergraduate Program
Information for Current Students - Writing Advisor
What do I do?
I assist WWS students in developing their thoughts, clarifying ideas, organizing arguments and outlines, and expressing themselves in a clear and effective manner. My experience has shown that students generally value the opportunity to discuss their work in progress.
What will I review?
I will work with you on any type of writing -- course papers, JP's, senior theses, and application essays for graduate school and fellowships. You do not need a written document in order to meet with me. In fact, I encourage you to meet with me before you begin writing for advice regarding your approach, concepts, organization, etc. If you have written work, just bring it with you - you don't need to send it in advance.
How do I arrange appointments?
Sign-up sheets are posted at my office. (If you must cancel, please remember to cross off your name.) If you wish to meet at a time other than the posted hours (or if the sign-ups are full), please e-mail me and I will do our best to schedule an appointment.
