Where Are They Now?

Cynthia Barmore ’09

Cynthia Barmore ’09 spent the first year of her two-year fellowship working with the Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S. Embassy Rome, and the U.S. Representative to the Food and Agricultural Organization, Rome. Her final year as a fellow will be with USAID Sarajevo.


Kimberly Bonner ’08 has completed her two-year fellowship with the U.S. Agency for International Development in Tanzania working on malaria control efforts and will begin her MPA studies at WWS in the fall of 2010.

Shannon Brink ’09

Shannon Brink ’09 will spend her two-year fellowship working for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Peru, where she focuses on rural development issues as the Mission’s Regional Representative in Cajamarca province.

Michael Konialian ’09

Michael Konialian ’09 is at the Department of State working at US Embassy London on multilateral climate change issues.

Emily Yasmin Norris ’09

Emily Yasmin Norris ’09 successfully competed for the Foreign Service.  She is now in training at the Foreign Service Institute in preparation for her first assignment as a Public Affairs Officer in Indonesia.

Brendan Reilly ’09

Brendan Reilly ’09 is a 1st Lt. with the US Marine Corps.

Michael Shapiro ’09

Michael Shapiro ’09 spent the summer after graduation as an intern at the Department of the Treasury and the first year of his fellowship at the Council of Economic Advisors. He is currently at the Office of Management and Budget.


Ishani Sud ’08 uses her chemical engineering degree as a technology analyst in the Washington DC area and will return to WWS in the fall of 2010 to begin her joint Master in Public Affairs/Master of Science in Engineering degree.


Jordan Reimer ’08 spent the initial year of his fellowship at the Department of Defense at the Office of Iraq Affairs. He has also worked on the Quadrenniel Defense Review, in the office of Public Affairs and on the staff of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  He will begin his MPA studies at WWS in the fall of 2010.

Lillian Timmerman ’08

Lillian Timmerman ’08 spent a year in East Timor with Princeton-in-Asia and the summer of 2009 as a White House intern. She is currently working on US-China issues in the Bureau of East Asian Affairs at the Department of State.

Eugene Yi ’08

Eugene Yi ’08 spent the initial year of his fellowship at the Department of Defense working on China and Korea in the Office of Defense Policy and subsequently joined the policy strategy team to work on the Quadrennial Review. This past year he  worked on US-China diplomatic issues at the US Embassy Beijing on a detail from the Department of Defense. He will return to WWS in the fall of 2011 to begin his joint MPA/JD degree studies.
