The Scholars in the Nation's Service Initiative
How to Apply
All applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be able to successfully complete a background investigation and meet security requirements for work in the federal government.
Scholars in the Nation’s Service are selected based on outstanding academic performance, a proven track record of accomplishment, leadership skills, and a demonstrated commitment to career government service. The Initiative particularly welcomes applications from students who combine knowledge and understanding of public policy – either international affairs or domestic issues – with high achievement in the sciences or engineering, and students with substantial knowledge of foreign languages and regional studies.
Undergraduate Scholarships
Up to five undergraduate scholarships are awarded each year. Princeton junior applicants must provide to the Scholars in the Nation’s Service Selection Committee no later than 5 pm Tuesday November 1, 2011 the following:
- Completed application form
- Official Princeton University transcript
- Three letters of recommendation (instructions attached)
Graduate Scholarships
Up to five graduate scholarships may be awarded each year. The Graduate Scholars Program is open to all eligible applicants to the Woodrow Wilson School’s M.P.A. program. Applicants must indicate on their WWS graduate application their wish to be considered for the Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative and submit an additional one-page statement explaining the reason for their application, policy issues and government issues they wish to pursue and evidence of their commitment to career federal public service. Applications for the SINSI Graduate Scholars Entry track are currently closed.
