Angus Deaton’s main interests are in health and development. He has taught at Cambridge University and at the University of Bristol. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, of the British Academy, and of the Econometric Society, and was the first recipient of the Society’s Frisch Medal for Applied Econometrics. His current pursuits include research on poverty and inequality around the world, with a particular focus on India. He also works on the determinants of health, particularly the relationship between income and health, both domestically and internationally. He is President Elect of the Amercian Economic Association. Ph.D. Cambridge University, D.Sc (Econ) University College, London, Doctor of Letters, University of St Andrews.
