Writing Internship: Summer 2018

The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs is seeking an intern for its Office of Public Affairs and Communications. The intern will be responsible for writing news articles, feature articles, award briefs and social media posts for a non-technical audience, and assisting with outreach strategies (list-building and organization). Some administrative duties may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the production of the School’s annual report, including gathering faculty awards, books and other data;
  • Writing feature stories and award briefs for the School’s website;
  • Producing content for social media channels (mostly Facebook and Twitter). This includes assisting with #WooWho Instagram series, featuring the stories of faculty, students and staff;
  • Working on template “News Tips” featuring the School’s go-to experts and the areas in which they can comment;
  • Producing weekly News Clips;
  • As needed, assist with the production of “Politics & Polls,” our weekly podcast; and
  • Assisting with reorganizing lists for our e-newsletter.

Requirements

Applicants must have strong writing and social media skills and the ability to write for a non-technical audience. The successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, meeting regular deadlines and handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Opportunity Details

Dates: June through August 2018 (exact dates are flexible)

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

Location: Princeton, New Jersey

Compensation: This is a paid internship.
