Amb. Frederick D. Barton delivered the 25th Annual Judge Frank M. Coffin Lecture on Law and Public Service at the University of Maine School of Law.

This lecture series honors the late Judge Frank M. Coffin, a longtime federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, former member of Congress and renowned leader and mentor in public service, and beloved friend of Maine Law.

Barton, lecturer of public and international affairs at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, discussed international peacebuilding and America’s role in a “troubled world” at the Oct. 25 event in Maine.

Barton co-directs the Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative with Kathryn R. Lunney at the Woodrow Wilson School. His career includes more than 20 years of peacebuilding work in more than 40 global conflict zones.
