The Center for the Study of Democratic Politics (CSDP) is organizing this conference to bring together leading academics, journalists, and policymakers to discuss the state of the US Presidency. This conference is open to all members of the Princeton University community, by pre-registration, but is not open to the publicAdvance registration is required, using the link on the conference website. Is the US presidency in crisis as an institution?  To what extent are the factors that contributed to Trump’s election and define his presidency personal versus broader developments? What are the implications of the Trump presidency for US policy and political discourse? Panels will consider the presidency as it relates to executive policymaking, congressional relations, the judiciary, foreign policy, public communications, and elections.
