OGCS/ Property Development & Finance Part I

Date & Time Feb 08 2019 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Audience Restricted to SPIA graduate students

This 2-session workshop will introduce you to the basics of property development and finance. The first session will focus on the developer side – looking at the project development budget, operating pro forma, and assessments of feasibility including returns analysis. It will also discuss the role of lending in the capital stack. The second session will build from this background to consider the ways the public sector can influence property development and incentivize developers to meet public goals such as creating affordable housing and economic development projects. Students will be introduced to the basics of tax credit financing. Interested students are strongly encouraged to sign up for both sessions, as much of the material is cumulative.
