Princeton University’s "Conversations about Peace" lecture series continues April 12 with a talk by Husam Zomlot, head of the General Delegation of the Palestinian Liberation Organization to the United States. His visit comes during a time of high tension between Washington and Palestine, after President Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

This lecture series is designed to engage students, scholars, visiting practitioners and the community in thinking about the Middle East peace process with a more proactive, pro-peace approach. The event will occur Thursday, April 12, at 4:30 p.m. in Arthur Lewis Auditorium, Robertson Hall.

Zomlot serves as strategic advisor to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, and was sworn in as ambassador in March 2017.

Zomlot has also served as ambassador-at-large for President Abbas, deputy commissioner of the Fatah commission for foreign relations, and as charge d'affaires at the Palestinian mission to the United Kingdom. He was born in the Shabura refugee camp in the southern tip of the Gaza Strip.

The Conversations about Peace lecture series is co-sponsored by the Mamdouha S. Bobst Center for Peace and Justice and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
