From MLK to March: Civil Rights in Comics and Cartoons

This exhibition, first presented by the ToonSeum at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Pittsburgh, highlights comic books and editorial cartoons of the Civil Rights era. Part of the show will focus on images from the comic book “Martin Luther King and the Montgomery Story,” which was first published in 1958. The exhibit will also include work from “March,” a graphic novel trilogy that recounts the life and social activism of Rep. John Lewis (D-GA).
