Biography

Pallavi Nuka is the associate director of the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy & Finance at Princeton’s School of Public & International Affairs (SPIA). She works closely with the director and executive committee to implement the Center’s strategy and programs, and amplify the policy impact of the Center’s research on financial markets and macroeconomics. Her responsibilities include oversight of operations and academic programs. In collaboration with faculty, researchers, policymakers, alumni, funders, and academic units across campus she helps to cultivate new, multi-disciplinary research and teaching initiatives, and fosters student engagement with relevant economic policy issues.

Before joining the Center, she was the associate director of Princeton’s Innovations for Successful Societies research program, which explores issues of governance and policy implementation in challenging contexts. In this role, she authored and edited multiple publications on leadership, governance, policy, and public sector reform. Earlier, she was a researcher in the Department of Politics and a visiting lecturer at Princeton’s School of Public & International Affairs for courses on statistics, econometrics, and program evaluation. She has a background in policy and project evaluation in the areas of governance, environment, and economic development. She worked with the World Bank-Global Environment Facility’s Evaluation Office for six years, assessing the design, performance, and impact of the Bank’s investments, with a focus on climate change adaptation, conservation of biodiversity, and land degradation. She also served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Cote d’Ivoire. She holds a MPA from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
