Biography

Barbara Hampton, M.Ed., NCC, is the Director of Graduate Career Development and Alumni Relations at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. A “Double Hoo,” Barbara completed a Master of Education degree in the field of Counselor Education in 2003 from the University of Virginia's (UVA) Curry School of Education, specializing in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish from UVA’s College of Arts & Sciences in 2001. Prior to joining the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, Barbara served as the Director of Career Services at UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy from 2013-2016 and worked at UVA's University Career Services (UCS) office from 2003-2013 in various roles including: Extern Coordinator, Career Counselor for Experiential Learning, Assistant and Associate Director of Employer Services, and Director of Employer Services. A National Certified Counselor (NCC) certified in administration of both the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory, Barbara has also been actively involved in several professional associations. She served as a member of the Virginia Association of Colleges and Employers (VACE) Board of Directors for five years and as the organization’s President in 2011-2012. She is currently an active member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) Career Professionals Group, and the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs' (APSIA) Career Group.
