Visiting Professor of Public and International Affairs

Biography

Laura Moutinho is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of São Paulo (USP). She is currently a Visiting Research Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. She holds a Ph.D. in Athropology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Her book Razão, Cor e Desejo: uma análise dos relacionamentos afetivo-sexuais inter-raciais no Brasil e na África do Sul [Reason, Color and Desire: an analysis of interracial sexual-affective relationships in Brazil and South Africa] was awarded the Edusc\Anpocs Best Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2003 and published in Brazil in 2004. In her current research she is studying sexual policies and human rights in South Africa.
