Spring 2009 WWS public affairs events available for viewing on UChannel

The Woodrow Wilson School's spring public affairs events can now be viewed on the UChannel, a website featuring streaming video and audio of public affairs lectures and panels from academic institutions all over the world, as well as iTunesU, the academic section of the iTunes music store.

Featured events – all of which are free to view and download - include talks on various issues of public and international affairs, by such speakers as Adm. Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; P. W. Singer ’97, Senior Fellow and Director of the 21st Century Defense at the Brookings Institute, and author of “Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century;” Hugh Price, the John L.Weinberg/Goldman Sachs Visiting Professor at the Woodrow Wilson School and former president at the National Urban League;  William Burns, Under Secretary for Political Affairs at the United States Department of State;  U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; and many others.

The UChannel and iTunesU are unique partnerships between academics and broadcasting, collecting video and audio recordings of recent lectures on a multitude of policy topics. Universities and research centers around the globe currently provide content, and the talks are minimally edited and available online for viewing, streaming, and downloading. Users can be notified by RSS feeds when new events are added to the sites.

The UChannel project was launched by WWS three years ago as a public service, in collaboration with other schools of public and international affairs. The UChannel is also featured on YouTube  through its own video channel.
