Getting Started
Once a BlackBerry or iPhone purchase has been approved, WWS Computing Services will submit a request for a new account or in the case of a departmental unit or research center, add the new device to an existing account. WWSCS will order the device, register it with OIT and configure it. There should be a Getting Started Manual included with the device. In addition, documentation is available online:
International Traveling
Although WWS BlackBerries and iPhones have international service, devices are configured with a domestic plan and international calls are charged on a per minute basis. All carriers offer international data and voice plans that can be activated for an additional monthly charge. If you have an individual phone plan, please contact the carrier or OIT Mobile Technology (cell@princeton.edu or 258-cell) to make changes. If your phone plan is still on the WWS central account, please contact the WWS Help Desk to add a plan to your device.
Princeton's Telecommunications Office has summarized the available international options on their International Traveler Information Page.
International Long Distance - Calling Abroad from US
All carriers have International Long Distance Plans that offer discounted per-minute rates for a monthly fee.
Contact the WWS Help Desk to add a plan to your device.
Prepaid Long Distance Calling Plan
the University has partnered with MobileSphere to provide service for placing international long-distance calls. Call worldwide from your existing cell phone, using your current plan, at significantly reduced rates. MobileSphere offers direct-dial calling, no pin numbers, no phone cards, no connection fees or monthly charges, and online account management.
