Media Services

Overview

WWS Media Services provides equipment, technical support, and information to faculty and staff of the Woodrow Wilson School who wish to use various forms of instructional media- audio, video, and computing technologies in their teaching, learning, research, and public outreach.

Services

WWS Media Services maintains A/V and computing equipment in selected lecture halls, classrooms, and seminar rooms located in Robertson and Wallace Halls and provides portable equipment for rooms not equipped with instructional media for WWS classes and events only.

PLEASE NOTE: Mac users, Princeton University does NOT supply Mac display adapters to students. It is suggested that students can purchase their own adapter from 113 Frist Campus Center. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To request use of A/V equipment for WWS classes and events, please e-mail wwsbus@princeton.edu or call 8-8880 at least one week before class or event. Request for all other events can be submitted to media@princeton.edu or by calling 8-3196.

Multimedia, Lecture Halls & Classrooms

Located in Robertson and Wallace Halls, there are multimedia classrooms and lecture halls that have instructional media permanently installed. The rooms are the following:

The instructional media installed are the following:

Video Projector, DVD Player, VHS Player, Audio Cassette Player, CD Player, and TV Tuner. Each classroom/lecture hall is also equipment for laptop computer and internet use through the multimedia system. To use the multimedia system independently, a training session must be attended. WWS Video Recording Policy

Effective February 2010

  • All requests for videotaping must be submitted to the Assistant Dean for Operations (kroskiew@princeton.edu);
  • Only WWS sponsored events will be approved for taping by WWS Business Office staff;
  • Requests for taping of non-WWS sponsored events can be submitted to the OIT Broadcast Center;
  • Requests for taping are booked on a first come first served basis;
  • A 2-week advance notice for taping is recommended;
  • While there is no charge for this service for WWS affiliates if provided during regular business hours, charges will be incurred for service after 4:30 pm and on weekends – please contact the Business and Facilities Office Administrator for details (betteann@princeton.edu);
  • WWS Business Office does not hire/coordinate students for video recording of events;
  • WWS Business Office staff are available to assist with Video Conferencing and Simulcasting that occur in Robertson Hall rooms that are properly equipped (Bowl 1, 16 and Dodds); these rooms should be booked in advanced using our online reservation form;
  • After an event is taped, the requestor assumes responsibility for conversion of the recorded output (DVD or tape) to the desired digital format, AND storage of the final product; the Broadcast Center provides this fee based service.
