This summer, I became the Executive Director of a non-profit social service agency, People Reaching Out to Other People (PROP), in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Eden Prairie is a second-ring suburb of Minneapolis and home to the Minnesota Vikings. PROP's mission is to compassionately provide comprehensive support to our neighbors in need that creates a path toward self-sufficiency. Over 1,000 households in Eden Prairie and Chanhassen, Minnesota, use our food shelf and pantry. In addition, we provide emergency financial assistance to keep people in their homes and other support services such as employment counseling, free walk-in counseling, financial advice, school supplies and holiday gifts. I love my job! PROP has a very strong staff, dedicated board members, and incredible support from the community. Each week, 120 volunteers commit at least 4 hours to helping us serve those in need. I am proud to be part of this 42-year-old organization.
