Student Life

WWS Graduate Student Life

The lives of our graduate students are intertwined both personally and professionally long after graduation due to the intimate, family-like nature of our community. The main reasons are as due to several advantages:

  • More than 90 percent of our students live in Princeton University housing and are highly accessible to one another.
  • The School enrolls approximately 130-140 MPA students, 15-25 MPP students and 30-40 Ph.D. students, which enables people to know one another both within and beyond the classroom.
  • The new MPA and MPP students participate in summer programs before orientation to recharge their quantitative batteries and organize numerous social events. Friendships are made and grow throughout the years.
  • Most elective classes enroll 6-15 students. There is no place to hide from each other or the professors. There is no place to be a spectator, only a participant. Put another way, WWS is the hardest place to avoid getting a good education.

From the personalized assistance of career services to a diverse selection of student-run organizations, students benefit from a wide range of school-supported activities outside of course offerings. Learn what goes on Beyond the Classroom.
